The role:
My client are looking to take on an experienced SQL Server DBA to join their team.
The ideal candidate will stem from a Financial Services background, and have 5+ years experience.
You will be required to be in the office 4 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all Database Management and Administration activities
- Manage and maintain a large scale SQL Server environment
- Monitoring, Backups and Restoration of Databases
- Optimising queries and stored procedures
- Index optimisation
- Database health and capacity monitoring
- Implementing automated alerting
- Database security best practices
- Working with Developers
- Participating in projects
- Occasionally providing out of hours support where required
Core skills required:
- 5+ years as a SQL Server DBA, ideally within Financial Services
- Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and newer
- T-SQL
- Query optimisation
- Index management
- High Availability / Disaster Recovery (AlwaysOn, Clustering etc.)
- Performance monitoring (Profiler, Extended Events etc.)
Desirable skills:
- SSRS / SSIS / SSAS
- PowerShell
- Microsoft Managed SQL Instance (Azure)
- C#
- Python
