We’re working with a world-renowned quantitative trading firm that has been at the cutting edge of systematic finance for over two decades. With a proven track record of innovation and market leadership, our client offers a highly technical, collaborative environment where engineers and researchers solve some of the most complex challenges in finance today.
As part of their expansion in mid-frequency trading, they are looking to hire a Quantitative Developer into a high-impact engineering team focused on building out their quantitative execution services.
The role
- You will work directly with traders and researchers to deliver scalable systems that drive strategy development, execution, and analytics:
- Build high-performance services in Rust and Python for market-data ingestion, machine learning pipelines, and post-trade analytics
- Translate research prototypes into production-quality code with testing, monitoring, and CI/CD
- Optimise performance across distributed systems — think low-latency, high-throughput
- Collaborate closely with quants to iterate on simulation frameworks and diagnostics
What we’re looking for
- 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience, including Python in production
- Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, concurrency
- Proficiency in a systems language — Rust preferred (C++ or Go also welcome)
- Experience with real-time/historical market data or other large time-series data sets
- Fluent in Linux development, Git, containers, and modern CI/CD workflows
- Knowledge of SQL and at least one columnar/time-series data store (e.g., ClickHouse, kdb+, Parquet)
Bonus points for
- Experience with execution algos, order-routing, or transaction cost analysis (TCA)
- Familiarity with ML/quant libraries (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch)
- Exposure to distributed messaging systems (Kafka, ZeroMQ, etc.)
- Experience with orchestration tools like Kubernetes, SLURM, or HT Condor
Why this role?
- Build truly high-performance systems that sit at the core of a global trading operation
- Work side-by-side with some of the industry’s brightest minds in quant and engineering
- Enjoy a culture that values autonomy, technical depth, and continuous learning
- Be part of a lean, empowered team within a highly capitalised, well-established firm
