Role: Data Scientist
Client: Technology Driven Investment Management Firm
Compensation: Up to $130,000 base + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Houston, TX (On-site 4 days per week)
Overview
My client is a modern, technology-led investment management firm leveraging advanced data science and machine learning to drive smarter decisions across global financial markets. They’re looking for a Data Scientist at junior–mid level who’s excited by real-world data, complex systems, and the chance to see models directly influence trading and investment strategies. You’ll be joining a collaborative team of data scientists, engineers, and quantitative analysts working at the intersection of finance, technology, and analytics.
The Role
This is a hands-on role with exposure to live market data, large datasets, and decision-making systems that operate at scale. From exploratory analysis through to production-ready models, you’ll play a meaningful role in shaping how data is used across the firm — with visibility, ownership, and room to grow. This is an on-site-first environment designed for collaboration, mentorship, and fast learning, with flexibility built in where it counts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing exploratory analysis through to production-ready models
- Shaping how data is used across the firm with direct visibility and ownership
- Collaborating with engineers and quantitative analysts at the intersection of finance and tech
- Working with live market data and decision-making systems that operate at scale
- Contributing to the full lifecycle of data science projects
Requirements
- 1-4 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, EDA, and machine learning
- Solid understanding of ML and statistical techniques (regression, classification, clustering, time series, model evaluation)
- Strong Python skills and experience working with real-world datasets
- Exposure to (or an interest in) finance/financial data is a strong plus
- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar
