Role: Database Specialist

Salary: Up to £200,000 (Flexible on seniority)
Location: London / Hybrid
The Role
My client is looking for a Database Specialist and is flexible on seniority, hence the wide salary range. You will work on their highly complex integrated Database stack, which facilitates many different parts of the business. The role involves managing and optimizing high-performance data stores that power mission-critical financial operations.
Core Skills Required
- Specialization: Proficiency in at least one of PostgreSQL (preferred), ClickHouse, or FoundationDB.
- Linux: Solid experience working within Linux environments.
- Scripting: Proficiency in a scripting language, ideally Python.
Desirable Skills
- Advanced Infrastructure: Advanced Linux skills and experience with Chef, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Additional Data Stores: Experience with MS SQL, Redis, or MongoDB.
- Observability: Proficiency with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring stacks.
- Modern Workflow: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Cloud platforms (AWS / GCP).
- Virtualization: Knowledge of VMware.
