Role: Desktop Support Engineer/Lead
Client: Quant Fund – Global collaborative firm run by passionate Computer Scientists
Salary: Up to £160,000 + bonus + package/perks
Location: London (Hybrid/Remote - 3/4 days onsite)
Overview
My client is a globally active quantitative fund developing state-of-the-art systems from a flagship New York office. This role is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and optimizing workstations, mobile devices, servers, and conference room technology, as well as diagnosing and resolving technical issues that affect a mission-critical trading and enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities
- System Optimization: Deploy, maintain, and enhance workstations, mobile devices, and servers.
- Infrastructure Support: Oversee and optimize conference room technology and internal systems.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues within a mission-critical trading environment.
- Leadership: Act as a lead figure within the systems engineering and administration function.
Skills and Experience
- Track Record: 3+ years commercial experience within a lead System Engineering/Systems Administrator role.
- Windows Expertise: Strong experience supporting and configuring Windows 10.
- Directory Services: Deep knowledge of Group Policy and Active Directory.
- Personality: A genuine passion for technology and a motivated, proactive attitude.
Nice to Have
- Automation: Experience with PowerShell and Python.
- Operating Systems: Previous experience working with Linux.
