Overview
An established lower-middle-market private equity firm is seeking a highly motivated Investment Associate to join its team in Pennsylvania. This role offers the opportunity to work across all stages of the investment lifecycle, including sourcing, due diligence, deal execution, portfolio company support, and strategic value creation. The firm remains highly active across various sectors, specifically industrials, manufacturing, and business services.
The Role
This is a comprehensive investment role where you will be involved in the full lifecycle of a deal. You will be responsible for the technical heavy lifting—building advanced LBO and DCF models—while also participating in the qualitative aspects of private equity, such as sector research and deal origination. Uniquely, this position also offers exposure to tracking market dynamics and capital flows across emerging markets in the Middle East and Africa, alongside core US-based lower-middle-market activity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting detailed company, sector, and market analysis across diverse industries and geographies
- Building and maintaining advanced financial models, including DCF, LBO, and transaction comps
- Preparing internal and client-facing investment materials, such as memos and presentations
- Supporting end-to-end deal execution, from due diligence and valuation to negotiations
- Tracking regional market dynamics and investment trends across the Middle East and Africa
- Participating in origination efforts by screening opportunities and supporting pitch development
- Providing strategic support to portfolio companies to drive value creation
Requirements
- Experience: 1–4 years in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Transaction Advisory, or Consulting
- Technical Skills: Strong financial modelling (LBO/DCF) and deep analytical capabilities
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal abilities for memo drafting and presentations
- Attributes: High attention to detail, strong project management skills, and a team-oriented mindset
- Versatility: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
