This is a newly created role within a growing and exciting area of a leading insurance firm. You will take central responsibility for exposure across their Marine and Energy catastrophe sectors, supporting key business drivers including risk assessment, pricing, and portfolio optimization. The Role
You will be at the forefront of risk evaluation for complex Marine and Energy portfolios. Beyond standard modeling, you will play a key role in data-driven projects, helping to enhance proprietary tools for risk aggregation, pricing, and underwriting. This role offers the chance to bridge technical catastrophe modeling with high-level commercial decision-making in the heart of the London Market.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking responsibility for catastrophe exposure across Marine and Energy sectors
- Supporting risk assessment, technical pricing, and portfolio optimisation
- Contributing to the development and refinement of the firm’s reinsurance strategy
- Leading data-driven projects to enhance tools for risk aggregation and underwriting
- Providing actionable insights to underwriters to improve risk selection
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust capital management
Requirements
- Strong Catastrophe Modelling experience (RMS, AIR, or similar platforms)
- Market Experience: Proven track record within the London Market (Insurance or Reinsurance)
- Domain Expertise: Previous experience specifically in Marine and/or Energy risk
- Technical Skills: Ability to handle data-driven projects and enhance risk tools
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to translate complex data for stakeholders
- Proactive Mindset: Ability to excel in a newly created role within a growing business unit
